Bishop Allen

Up to last week I’d never heard of Bishop Allen. The guys propped up on stage in a scene in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist; a romantic comedy starring Michael Cera set in grungy New York. The soundtrack to the movie features material from Vampire Weekend, We Are Scientists, The Dead 60′s and of course Bishop Allen themselves. Sounds like a preeeeety decent soundtrack!
These guys are coming out of a very vibrant New York indie scene and they boast that new New York sound too. Very catchy acoustic tracks similar to Vampire Weekend but without the white boy reggae style vocals.
Bishop Allen will be releasing their 4th studio album in 6 years titled Grrr… on March 10th 2009.

I first heard of Bishop Allen via Just Watch The Sky, Rain is an amazingly catchy song!
Hi Peter, they’re an excellent band. Rain is an excellent track. They remind me of a few other bands but at the same time are somewhat unique. Something about ‘em.
